Brad Fox began working professionally in sound in 1979 as a touring sound engineer. From 1986 until 2001 he ran a successful Audio-Visual Sales, Installation and Production Company, ABI Systems. At its peak, ABI had a full-time staff of eleven and a working inventory valued in the millions. ABI provided international tour support for many premier touring acts including The Rankin Family, Great Big Sea, Natalie MacMaster, Rawlins Cross and Weird Al Yankovic. It was also during this period that Brad developed many of the skills and contacts that his clients find so useful today.

 

Brad is a winner of the Music Industry Association of Nova Scotia’s (now Music Nova Scotia) “Live Engineer of the Year” award. Winning the award in its inaugural year and two years subsequent to that.  While maintaining his duties as owner/manager of ABI, Brad acted as mainstage engineer for multiple festivals including the Atlantic Jazz Festival , Celtic Colours and The Stan Rogers Festival. He also worked as sound engineer for The Rankin Family, Rawlins Cross, Jimmy Rankin and many others. Brad maintains a working relationship with both Jimmy Rankin and Rawlins Cross to this day.

 

In 2001 ABI Systems was sold. While continuing to assist the new owners of ABI with business development Brad grew his new consulting business appropriately named  Fox Technologies. Since that time Brad has become one of the East Coast’s leading sound and lighting installation consultants. Having worked on A/V Systems Design and Acoustics projects stretching from Nunavut to Newfoundland and Labrador. His technical training and knowledge make him a favorite resource for architects, planners and contractors.
